Dr. Ansari is an interventional neuroradiologist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and a Professor of Radiology, Neurology, and Neurosurgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He is a nationally recognized expert in minimally invasive percutaneous and endovascular procedures of the brain, head/neck and spine. He has published extensively and is an independent NIH funded investigator, having been awarded multiple research grants in areas of MR imaging and angiography. Dr. Ansari currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery (SNIS) and is co-Chair of the FDA registry for devices used for acute ischemic stroke intervention (DAISI CRN).
He received his medical and doctoral degrees from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, completed a Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University of Illinois, Chicago, and both Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology fellowships at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Dr. Cantrell is a practicing interventional neuroradioligist at Northwestern Medicine and an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He developed software for DICOM networking and image de-identification and actively supports numerous research projects in Northwestern University’s departments of Radiology, Neurosurgery, and Electrical Engineering. He was awarded an individual DoD National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate fellowship and an NIH Clinical and Translational Science Award Predoctoral fellowship for his work in the fields of retinal neural computation and neural electric stimulation.
Dr. Cantrell received an M.D. and Ph.D. from the Medical Scientist Training Program at Northwestern University. He completed a Radiology residency and fellowship in Diagnostic Neuroradiology at Northwestern specializing in advanced imaging techniques. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital specializing in neurointerventional treatments.
Over a 20+ year career in technology, Leon has focused on commercialization and forging pathways to profitability in new markets. At Facebook, he was product manager for a portfolio of now widely-used AI-based ad products that optimize revenue for advertisers. He grew numerous new and existing products at Facebook to over a billion dollars each in annual revenue. Prior to this, he was CEO of Caterva, a startup based in the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s Research Park. There he helped a team of PhD AI engineers and data scientists with commercialization before the team’s acquisition by Facebook.
Leon’s commercialization focus is supported by a blended educational background in business, computer science, and mathematics. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. He is always learning and earned a Master of Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with coursework focused on AI and data science.
